Drabbles
Fiona and Rafael
Fiona picked up the mic and began to sing her rendition of Erykah Badu’s On& On , Neo-soul clubs in Paris were easier to find than she’d anticipated and she found that the blue lights and fog from cigarettes seemed like a second home. Her move to Paris was one of the best things she’d ever done but it was only temporary. Her father had made it clear , get your modeling and singing off the ground in three months , if nothing happens you’re coming back home. She didn’t want to , she loved her parents but her father was always so strict with them about everything , no dating , you must go to college , no philosophy majors. It was difficult living up to his mole and expectations.  He was one of the biggest business men ever , in fact he was #2 on Billboard’s Wealthiest Entrepreneurs. Her mother was an even bigger figure The First Multi-faceted Ballerina to come out of Paisley and Billboards #2 Most Influential Women of Dance. Her mother not only danced , she wrote, she designed , she composed and she choreographed. That was hard to live up to.
The music stopped and she bowed to the audience , before taking in each of their faces then suddenly her eyes graced one all too familiar . What was he doing here? Rafael Mclaggen was an occurrence of the past that should have been left there. He’d made her shatter everything she stood for in one night and then they never saw each other again , mostly due to her evasion of him.
She descended the steps , thanking Laser , the DJ along the way before she was face to face with her past.
“Fiona Mclaggen , you’re a hard one to find.”
She appraised him with a stoic expression before smirking.
“I didn’t know that I was being hunted”
He seemed shocked but simply leaned into her and twirled one of her curls on his finger.

Felicity sat on the steps with a book askew in her lap waiting for her “husband”. This project was killing her and she couldn’t believe it had only been two days , it felt like a month. Kaleb Corner was the complete opposite of her , he was cocky and caught up in the wrong things and crowd. He might have been smart but she wasn’t sure , she’d never paid much attention to him despite the female population’s constant fawning over the bad boy with the pretty face.
“Ah, waiting for me wife?”
She rolled her eyes at him before getting up.
“You offered me a ride home, remember, you said I could get some background info on you while we were riding.”
He nodded before showing her the way to his shiny black car , it looked expensive but she couldn’t be sure what exactly it was. She never liked cars those were her brothers’ domains. He opened the door for her and smiled as she looked at him funny before closing it and taking his seat.
“So what questions do you have , babe?”
She cringed at the nick name , how dare he? She wanted to verbalize this but she couldn’t let him see her squirm so she took out her notepad and began her line of interrogation.
“What do you want to do after highschool?”
“Ehh , I want to go off to some division five college and major in engineering.”
She turned her head to the side at this.
“Really Kaleb , is that what you really want to do?”
“Yes, how about you , plan to live off daddy’s money for the rest of your life?”
“No  I want to do Computer Science.”
He nodded.
“So , what do you want more than anything at this moment?”
“Hmm , maybe to consummate this marriage with my wife in the backseat. You up for it curls?”
He answered with a mischievous grin before pulling into her driveway.
“Seriously , what do you want?”
“Honestly …”
He got cut off when Felicity’s phone rang. It was Ezra , a guy who worked with her on the yearbook and was taking candid shots , he’d developed a crush on her too but she ignored this . Professionalism always came before pleasure.
“Hello , yeah…umm…….I have to call you back….really?.........that’s wonderful , I really need to call you back when I’m done though.”
“Whose that your prince charming , another man who’ll go at your beck and call and pay for you your whole life , pamper you like the spoiled princess you are and finally get between those legs to realize that it’s not what it was supposed to be.”
She gaped at him , not only because that was crass , not because it hurt but because of the venom behind it.
“Where did that come from? Ezra’s just a photographer are you jealous?”
He shook his head .
“No , of course not.”
He snorted but she could see it in his brown eyes , he was jealous.
“Yes you are , possessive are we?”
“No , in fact you’re not even my type , I like women with independence.”
“And I am dependent?”
Felicity asked to which he simply nodded before sitting back in his seat.
“You don’t even know me but you know what , I’d never date you either so , whatever.”
She opened her door to leave but he pulled her back.
“I see the way you stare at me Felicity don’t lie to yourself. You want to be with me , you wonder what it’s like, well it’s rough and you can’t handle it.”
She stared at him as she got out  , lost for words until finally he closed her door and pulled out the driveway. She hated to admit it but in a way Kaleb Corner was right , she did think he was hot but his personality and mouth simply killed that fact.
The Next week , the last week and she was in his house . It was your normal two story blue and white colonial style home. 5 bedrooms and 3 and a half baths with a huge backyard and kitchen. Kaleb had two sisters Blake and Devynn who were both never home practically and his parents were always at an event , his mother was an actress. Today they were in Maui promoting her new Summer Chick Flick. She was essentially alone , in a house with Kaleb Corner . Was there any redemption or hiding at all?
He guided her to his bedroom and she took a spot on his king sized bed.
“I like your house , it’s beautiful.”
She told him because it was true his house was the epitome of normalcy while hers was grand and noticeable. Kaleb’s house had a beautiful suburban tumultuousness that made it seem glorious to her.
“Thanks , my mom will love that but anyway I’m sorry about what I said yesterday , you struck a nerve.”
She simply nodded before he turned to say something again. It was then that she realized he was shirtless. Gosh , this cannot be happening.
“You look really pretty today Felicity.”
Okay , there goes it , nail in the coffin.
“Could you put a shirt on please?”
His cocky smile returned as he stepped closer to her before kneeling so he was at eye level. His hands on her thighs to keep him steady.
“Why does this bother you?”
He asked teasingly and she tried her best to not just die right there.
“Kaleb… I”
He cut her off.
“I’m Kidding Fliss , I know who girls like you go for and I’m not it obviously.”
“You’re not totally correct with that theory.”
He looked at her with interest.
“Elaborate.”
He said calmly.
“Well , let’s say a certain overachiever happened to be attracted to a certain guy who’s a little rough around the edges.”
He grinned broadly.
“Would this girl happen to be sitting in front of the guy right now?”
She nodded , a smile creeping on her lips as he came closer.
“Would this girl object to this guy validating her theory?”
“How will he do that?”
He kneeled closer to her ear.
“ He kisses her and if she likes it she’ll pretty much reciprocate.”
He kissed her earlobe softly causing her to shiver before he kissed her full on the lips. One kiss turned into a make out session in fact Kaleb’s hands seemed to roam anywhere they wanted under Felicity’s permission but they didn’t go farther than kissing. “So?” Kaleb asked curious about the future.
“Clandestine.”

Look who’s coming for Christmas

The streets of Paisley were covered in snow as Children dashed from place to place making snow men and angels. Alyssa loved this time of year and at her age she found that what she loved most was the presence of her children and grandchildren coming to dinner. Blaise sat with a book askew in his lap but she knew he was anxious for their arrival as well because every once in a while his eyes would dart to the clock above the fireplace and his shoulders would relax. She smiled at this before laying out the tray of cookies and joining her husband as they waited for their descendants to arrive.
-
“Oh darling are you sure they remember? After all they do have their moments especially Noah.”
Fretted Jourdan Zabini nee Montague as she stared at her husband with wide eyes nervous that their children would forget the very special family dinner they had every Christmas Eve.
“Yes I’m sure this happens every year love.”
“But they’ve never had distractions until this year. Everyone’s got someone this Christmas , they’re not babies anymore.”
She said sadly causing her husband to hug her tightly before they ascended the front steps of his parents’ home. He kissed her forehead.
“They’ll always be that way to us and trust me they’ll be here. Our family is always the first to arrive and let’s face it Dominick’s had distractions since he was sixteen.”
Jourdan laughed before Alyssa opened the door for them and she greeted her in laws happily before they began their discussion on how life was going.
-
“Nervous?”
Dominick asked his fiancé as she took out the apple pie she made for the festivities.
“Nope I’ve been coming here for the last four years only difference now is this time I have a ring because, you finally got the balls to ask me to marry you.”
She teased him causing him to smirk before he took the pie from her and allowed her to go up the steps of the beautiful house , suddenly she spun around midway.
“Dom do you really want to marry me?”
He sighed , she’d asked him this question for the last two months , it started exactly one day after he proposed to her. He could understand her uncertainty , there beginning was horrendous in fact he played with her heart for the first year and maintained a liaison with an Italian exchange student. She gave him an ultimatum and he wised up , he couldn’t live without her. As insecure and fiery as she was Dominick loved everything about her sadly it took him a while to realise that. Every time she asked him he’d say the same thing.
“Yes , there isn’t anyone else I’d want to spend my life with. I love you Raven.”
He kissed her softly before the sound of the door opening startled them.
“DOMINICK” His grandmother exclaimed happily “and Raven so nice to see you all!”
She hugged them both before ushering them into her house and out of the cold. He couldn’t imagine anything better than being in the same house with everyone he loved on Christmas Eve.
-
“Noah! So early five more minute babe please!”
Whined Teagan as her boyfriend shook her from her slumber. She could feel the heat of his green eyes on her but she couldn’t look up if she did she truly wouldn’t get up from the bed.
“Tea we’re already late come on! I haven’t seen my grandparents for a whole year and I really can’t miss this dinner.”
Her eyes fluttered open as she pulled herself up for his sake. She grabbed him by the collar of his shirt and kissed him before getting up and going to the shower.
“You are so lucky I’m in love with you Noah!”
She called as she closed the door causing him to smile. His parents weren’t in the dark about Teagan , they knew her and loved her like he did. She had spunk as they called it. Whatever it was it made him fall in love with her but also made him weak to whatever she wanted he’d do anything for her. He knew what she wanted above all but they were too young to rush for marriage it would only ruin them in the long run.
